DataFetch

DataFetch is a tech startup that developed a simple spreadsheet add-on that seamlessly pulls data from outside sources and organizes it in Google Sheets or Excel. In preparation for upcoming investor presentations, they needed a proper logo and identity, along with a simple, elegant website that explained the product and its benefits.

Logo Exploration

Keep it simple. The ask was to create a clean, modern logo to represent the brand, along with an easily identifiable icon that could stand on its own when used as a favicon, social media icon or app symbol. I presented several first-round options that fit this criteria. (Note: phase 1 designs not for color)

The Final Logo

A design direction was chosen, and the logo evolved to its final iteration, shown below. Color was explored and a palette finalized.

The Website

Time to get the word out there. The goal was to design a simple landing site that would make dry, tech-heavy subject matter feel approachable, easy to use, and helpful.

Desktop.

The cheery color palette and fun illustrations add an element of playfulness to an otherwise dry subject. Scannable information reinforces ease and convenience. A demo video engages viewers and demonstrates ease-of-use first hand. Well placed call-to-action download buttons are utilized throughout the site.  A clear explanation of beta-test pricing, user reviews and FAQs enhance the experience.

Mobile.

The mobile home exudes a bright vibe in a simple, straightforward manner. The layout is focused on convenience, with clear CTAs placed above the fold. Flowing curves add a sense of motion, and give a nod to the silhouette of the logo icon. Content responsively stacks to a clean mobile layout, and modules are right-sized for the device viewport. Specific design elements were altered for mobile, to prevent excessive scrolling.
